THE REST OF THE STORY

My son Micah is terrified of birds.  One day he came home from a school field trip to the Zoo and ever since then he will freak out a the sight of birds. 

So the first time we went to Disney World we thought we would start making memories at the Animal Kingdom park.   We roll through the gates into an enchanted tropical area where exotic birds from all over the world freely fly around you.  Sounds really cool, right? Well, this was the day we realized how much Micah did not like birds!  The thing I remember the most was my 8 year old son curdled up in the bottom of a stroller for the rest of the day scared and crying because of the birds.

This year we went back to Disney World.  My daughter Hope was dying to go the Animal Kingdom park (It is really cool!), but we had this whole issue with the birds.  We had to have a plan to get through the entry and that is when we came up with the idea for Operation: Magical Bird Deflecting Poncho, otherwise known as MBDP!   It worked great, right after we got through the bird area, we all had a lot of fun!  Funny thing was, on our way out of the park, back through the same area, we didn't need the MBDP!  Turns out he was having so much fun, he actually forgot there were birds flying all around him...and this was an answer to prayer!
